DIY Home Office

Let’s talk DIY. To many completing a DIY project in your home may be a scary feeling. But when you learn how much contractors actually charge to complete some of the simplest task, DIY always sounds like the better option.

When moving into our new home, there were many spaces that I wanted to tackle in order to get rid of the blank walls, but I had to be strategic and think about the most important spaces first. As a work from home mom, getting my office set up was one of my top priorities for me, because this is a space that I spend most of my day in.

I’ll share more tips later on tips for working remotely, but let’s get into how I DIY’d my home office wall for under $250 after a contractor quoted me $2500 see this viral TikTok video on my project.

How I achieved my DIY Home Office

Most of the items I used for the project were from amazon, including this wall molding kit, which added the depth to the room that I needed. I love this stuff because it takes the guest work out of the cutting and measuring of wood paneling.

For the wall color, I went with Havana coffee from Behr and it was the perfect shade of brown for this space. Not too dark, not too red.

Wall lighting for me was so important, because I’m all about the ambiance of my space so I went with scones which are battery operated and didn’t need any hardwiring in case I decided to change this room in the future.

For my wall art, I found mine at homegoods, which is one of my favorite stores to visit for home decor.

I’m so happy I decided to save a little coin by completing my own DIY home office and can’t wait to share more DIY projects with you! We’ve got the whole house to design.
